Mike Zarafonetis

I joined Haverford Libraries in December 2011 after one year of working as a web exhibit developer at the Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware. I came to librarianship largely by accident. Having majored in computer science as an undergraduate and completing a PhD in history, my interests have always overlapped with both the technical world and the humanities. I really enjoy being Digital Scholarship Librarian, because it gives me the opportunity to work on so many interesting digital projects and to do so with people who are intellectually curious and adventurous. It is very fulfilling to use my technical skills and my academic experience in the service of scholarship.

I live in Wilmington, Delaware by way of Auburn, Alabama and Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I was born and raised. I am an avid golfer, swimmer, homebrewer, and fan of Detroit (and Auburn) sports. I married my wife Stephanie in October 2010, and together we have a dog and a cat.
